HOW SOLAR PV WORKS
A Solar PV installation is easy to understand and is virtually maintenance free.
The photovoltaic solar panel array converts the suns radiation into electricity.
Wires from the panels then lead to a small unit called an inverter. This unit is wall mounted eiyther inside or outside the house. The inverter converts the electricity from a DC current to an AC current, which can then be used by appliances in the house.

If you have a battery system installed, excess electricity can instead be used to charge your battery for use during hours of darkness when the solar pv system is not producing electricity.
